I am thrilled to announce the opening of Lorna Stewart, MD, and Associates in the winter of 2021 serving the Naples, FL area!
As an independently owned, primary care practice, I will provide comprehensive healthcare through a membership medicine model.
As a primary care physician, I help patients to manage chronic health issues, as well as focus on prevention and overall wellness. I have a special interest in geriatric women’s health, including cardiovascular disease prevention, osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment, cancer risk assessment, and stroke and diabetes education and management. I use a comprehensive approach that focuses on lifestyle management and prevention. All are welcome at my practice!
By starting my own membership practice, I can have a much greater impact on my patients’ lives than I could in a traditional primary care practice. Membership medicine means that patients pay a membership fee to join the practice, and their membership includes all office visits, plus the ability to reach me 24/7 via phone, text or email. By using the membership model, we are no longer beholden to insurance barriers that dictate your care and require physicians to see an unreasonable number of patients in a day. This model lets doctors and patients spend more time together to focus on prevention and overall wellness – not just treatment when you are sick. That’s the way I think medicine should be.
And as a Ms.Medicine-affiliated practice, I join a network of other membership medicine primary care practices focused on providing evidence-based, comprehensive care for patients. For my women patients, this means I will complete advanced training in women’s health addressing often-complex health needs of women, including menopause, sexual health, bone health and more. As a member of the Ms.Medicine network, I am connected to nationally known women’s health internists and other specialists, and I participate in ongoing training to help address my patients’ needs.
